I am a student at Ōtaki College in Ōtaki, NZ. My blog is a place where I will be able to share some of my learning. Please note....some work won't be edited - they are just my first drafts, so there may be some errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas on my posts.

Otaki Youth Space
On Wednesday some members of the council came to ask us some questions about a youth space in Otaki, and what we think it should have they asked what we think it should have like spaces and activities. like basketball and a chill area there could be a Nerf night or a gaming night. I think that the youth place should be in the town because we can go there after school. I would want it to be a nice chill area where everyone can hangout. I hope that the youth place will be a fun area to hangout. I think it should include a snack bar a gaming area a chill area .

Rocket test
After we had just launched the bottle by itself we added some fins on the end and that helped balance. The bottle and let it cut through the air and made it aerodynamic and then they were going so high you can barely see the bottle.
Test light no | Psi | ml | notes |
1 | 60 | 300ml | it spun around to much |
2 | 60 | 500ml | went higher but still spun to much |
3 | 60 | 700ml | went ford a bit but no height |
4 | 60 | 200ml | went well but spun in the end |
5 | 60 | 150ml | it was going really well but spun out just in the end |
6 | 50 | 400ml | just went down kinda |

Megan put holes in 4 bottle tops then put the tops on the tooth picks and taped them on the bottom of my cardboard then put a tooth pick in the middle and put paper on the tooth pick in the middle and finished. I think everything went well apart from my wheels they where a bit wonky.

self portraits
Over the past few weeks we have been making self portraits first we covered a wooden board in news paper . Then we found 10 words about us then we painted the boards I painted mine red and blue because they were already on the paint trey next to me. Next we put a layer of pastel on a photo of our self the we practised by getting a pencil and putting a piece of brown paper. Underneath the photo of our self then we pressed hard on the photo on every little detail after that it was time to do the proper one you grab your board and use your photo and layer it with pastel again and press hard and go over every detail again next you paint a shape of your choice and put it around the background of your board and then paint the background white. I think that my lower body went well and I found painting my face really hard.
